How do I market my business better?

Hi! I am the CEO of a small (for now) business in Louisville, KY. I am reading %26quot;Guerilla Marketing%26quot; and am looking for creative ideas for how I can better market our business. We are in the specialty packaging and shipping business. We ship all of the super fragile, awkward, large, and valuable items no one else wants to handle. The company was literally started to help raise money for our church, and we want to be able to give more. How do I market my business better?
I read the book, %26quot;Guerilla Marketing%26quot; and also have a CD ROM from them. Sorry to say, but I was unimpressed. They merely gave the same old tired advice.





Not that it is a great marketing book, but Napoleon Hill%26#039;s %26quot;Think and Grow Rich%26quot; is probably the most inspiring business (or personal) book I have read. And Mr. Hill was certainly a man who relied on the %26quot;spiritual powers%26quot; to assist him in his life endeavors.
Reply:Word of mouth is a powerful tool to use in marketing - get the word out about your business!


Try placing your business contact information on a well known search engine such as google


Advertise in the phone book and yellow pages and any other publications in your community
Reply:Check Chambers of Commerce / Board of Trade directories for possible clients.

It is basically a %26quot;mySpace%26quot; for business, but really focuses on connecting professionals with other people in your area or in industries you sell to.





They also have a kick-a** Press Distribution service (http://www.fastpitchpress.com) which gets you killer placement in Google and Yahoo





I have also tried other business networking sites like LinkedIn, Ryze - which are a little different (more job/classified focused)

Here the guide question, maybe it can help.


Do you count your resources now? How big or small it is? How%26#039;s the working capital? Is it working? Does the result on your book is enough to upgrade something much useful to your business? How%26#039;s your advertiser?


If the question above has a positive answer then you have a seed to make business better.
